Students will learn the basic techniques of glass fusing. Topics to be discussed and demonstrated will be:
- Brief history of glass fusing
- Glass compatibility
- Glass cutting
- Designing on glass
- Preparing the kiln shelf using Papyros paper release
- Discuss firing schedules
- Discuss glass project results
Each student will create a glass piece in each class. By the end of the 4 week course each student will have created several glass pieces including square tiles, square and round slumped bowls.
Safety: No open toe shoes. Wear socks.
Tools: All tools and glass materials included
Bring a notebook to take notes.
