Intro to Sequential Art (Cartooning/Comics)
Students will need to bring their own sketch books and drawing pencils/markers to class to learn the basics of character design for the express purpose of creating a story such as a cartoon strip, picture book, or comic strip. This class will include basic figure study and basic drawing suitable for beginners.
Illustration Art Club is designed to promote drawing skills, encourage playful illustrations, and develop personal aesthetics as an illustrator. The projects are highly individualized and adaptable to each individual student. My goal is that students come home with a sketchbook full of imaginative drawings, developed/evolved studies, playful characters, and a maturing ability to make excellent design choices. Each week I will showcase the work of a professional illustrator to acquaint the students with a broad range of styles and influences.
