Students will learn the basic techniques of glass fusing. Topics to be discussed and demonstrated will be:
- Brief history of glass fusing
- Glass compatibility
- Glass cutting
- Designing on glass
- Preparing the kiln shelf using Papyros paper release
- Discuss firing schedules
- Discuss glass project results
Each student will create a glass piece in each class. By the end of the 4-week course, each student will have created several glass pieces including square tiles, along with square and round slumped bowls.
Each student will create one glass piece in each class – working with the equivalent of 3 – 5” x 5” sheets of glass. Additional supplies (3 – 5” x 5”-inch equivalent of glass sheets) is available for an additional is $15.
