Instructor Bio

Ivonne Long; Artist, wife, and grandmother. From an early age art has always been her passion! Anytime she steps into an art museum, to her it feels like a sanctuary. She is thankful to The Lord for her God-given ability of creativity! Which has certainly evolved through the years. Her talents range from Renaissance, Baroque, Realism, and Observational art. Talents recognized and encouraged by her Teachers, in high school she was awarded a summer pass to the Art Institute of Atlanta, skills honed in various mediums and styles. The following year she was blessed to be under the tutelage of two world-renowned artists where she began to grow a new passion, to teach art.

Later years her art extended to her children’s schools, when she was a member of the PTA., she would face paint at school events and as a substitute Teacher, she would grab the opportunity to fill in when needed as an art sub. Her artistic skills transfer from stationary canvases to walking canvases! (people) At the Defoors Gallery in Atlanta, she taught Still life art from 1998 to 2001 Mission trips taken to Ukraine in 2011 & 2017 her weeks there Ivonne gave instructional courses, teaching children, teens, and adults she has said: “Whether a beginner or experienced, art is the perfect outlet one can express themselves without constraints, step back and be proud of your extension of creativity!” In 2012 she began painting on a miniature scale 1 X 1 the detail is remarkable! Those works of art have been shipped out across the USA, Europe, and Canada and can be seen on her IG account. Retired now and living at home in Smyrna, she is excited to continue teaching Still Life Art at MCMA.
