Chalk Art Flood

Help Us Turn a Rainout into a Rainbow! 🎨🌧️

They forecast flooding rains during our biggest annual fundraiser, Chalktoberfest. Let’s flood the internet with chalk art instead!

The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is the nonprofit organization behind the beloved event Chalktoberfest, bringing together extraordinary chalk artists from around the world each year to transform Marietta Square into a breathtaking outdoor gallery.

While we’ve weathered rain before, this year’s forecast of dangerous winds and potentially flooding rains forced us to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel Chalktoberfest 2026.

For our small nonprofit museum, staffed by just seven people, this cancellation means more than a missed celebration. Chalktoberfest is our largest annual fundraiser, supporting exhibitions, arts education, community outreach, and museum operations throughout the year. The cancellation represents a financial loss of tens of thousands of dollars.

But the weather doesn’t get to have the last word!

We’re launching CHALK FLOOD — #ChalkFloodMCMA, inviting chalk artists around the world to create wherever they are and share their masterpieces by tagging @chalktoberfest and @mariettacobbartmuseum.

☕️🍺 The price of a beverage can help keep the arts flowing! 🍷🥤

If you were planning to enjoy a refreshing beverage at Chalktoberfest’s Craft Beer Festival this weekend, consider donating the price of one to the museum instead.

Whether it’s $5, $8, $10, or any amount you choose, your generosity helps our small nonprofit continue bringing art to the community.

We couldn’t bring the world’s chalk artists to Marietta Square this weekend. So let’s bring their art to the world.

The rain may have canceled the festival, but it can’t wash away our creativity.
