The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition of oil paintings by Carole Pigott, an artist living and working in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Pigott paints scenes from the Southern and Southwestern United States. Greatly inspired the connectedness of visual art to creative writing, Carole Pigott presents a selection of oils that accompany written reflections by author, Eudora Welty. Also exhibited will be a variety of Pigott’s paintings that depict vistas of the Southwest. A deep connection to nature and a tangible sense of nostalgia permeate this exhibition of some of Pigott’s most moving landscape paintings.
