Our 2D Open Studios offer a flexible, supportive environment where students can work at their own pace on personal projects. Students can use this time to work in any 2D medium, including printmaking, painting, graphite, or pastels. No formal instruction is provided, but students are welcome to ask for guidance from the studio monitor.
Supplies are included in class fee. Students are welcome to bring additional materials.
Cost: $45
Registration closes 24 hours before each session. Online registration is strongly encouraged. A $5 fee will be applied to all walk-ups.

Meet Ashley
Ashley Livingston is an oil painter and printmaker from Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, concentrating in Painting and Printmaking. Her oil paintings often focus on endangered animals, and she aims to create work that spurs conversation about community and cultivating harmonious relationships with nature.
She is currently teaching the museum’s youth programs: MCMA Art Camps, Preschool Art, Sunday Art School, Teen Media, and Special Needs Art Enrichment. As well as adult classes for Printmaking and Oil painting.
