Pottery on the Wheel
Students will learn the basic principles of making pottery forms on the wheel. This will include throwing, trimming, and glazing techniques. More advanced students will continue to practice their techniques and skills. By the end of the course, you will have at least one finished piece.

All supplies and kiln firing are included in the price of the class.
** MCMA is not liable for any projects that do not survive the process of firing in the Kiln due to inappropriate construction of the artwork.
Meet the Instructor
Sheila J. Dow is a renowned ceramic artist with an extensive tenure at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, where she has dedicated nearly two decades to instructing and advancing the Ceramics Department. Her collaborative efforts have significantly contributed to the prosperity and growth of the department. Sheila’s academic credentials include a focus on Ceramics at Georgia State University, and additional studies in Ceramics and Sculpting at Kennesaw State University. Committed to nurturing artistic talents across all age groups, she conducts Summer Art Camps for at the Museum for young enthusiasts while continuing to educate adults in the realm of ceramics.
