This class will explore the art of graphite through portraiture. Students will draw a portrait from their own high-quality photo to develop their observational skills and graphite drawing techniques. This is a 5-week course.
This session is for all skill levels.
Dates: October 26-November 16, 2025
*All weekend classes will be paused on November 22 and 23, and resume the following weekend of November 29 and 30.

Meet Karina S Toma
Karina Spătaru Toma is an award-winning photorealist portrait artist, illustrator, and art instructor. Since 2022, Karina has instructed art classes at several art centers across the metro Atlanta area, teaching drawing, painting, and digital arts to all ages. After earning her BFA from Kennesaw State University in 2024, she started working toward becoming an illustrator and concept artist for video games and animation.
