Meet the Instructor

Licha Ochoa Nicholson is a dedicated and well-established glass artist, crafting glass creations since 1999. Her work is deeply influenced by her Mexican heritage and her personal journey to reconnect with her family roots, which were disrupted when her grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico.
She likens her glass designs to the work of an archeologist uncovering ancient glass and ceramics to reveal stories from the past. Ochoa Nicholson began her education at the Pilchuck Glass School and has since expanded her studies at esteemed glass institutions across the U.S. including Pratt Fine Art in Seattle, WA, the Pittsburgh Glass School in Pittsburg, PA and the Batavia Glass School in Batavia, NY. In 2014 she was invited to return to Pilchuck Glass School for a residency program in Stanwood, WA. Ochoa Nicholson teaches, lectures and exhibits her work throughout the U.S. She currently resides in Marietta, Georgia, where she also maintains her studio.
